Hello everybody,
on Wednesday, we drove to 'Cadney Station" for the night, & on Thursday morning, we drove to Erldunda, where we paid $1.89 /litre for fuel. Because the weather was so cold in Alice Springs, we by-passed it on Friday, and drove to Aileron, which is 130k north of Alice Springs. Aileron has the highest fuel price so farr. $1.99/litre. The caravan park was quite nice, but the ablutions left a lot to be desired. The next day was Saturday, & we drove to the "UFO" capitol of Australia, "Wycliffe Well". Look it up on Google. We were there for lunch & booked in for 2 days. By 4.30pm we were well into happy hour when a chap who works there, approached us and said, "Your an electrician, we have had lots of problems since the flood. If you see the boss, you'll have a job." I did, & I did. We left five days later & all parties were happy. Whilst we were there, we made friends with 2 couples who were working there for a short time, & with the emus, galahs, donkeys etc. On our last night, an Aboriginal singer entertained us in the restaurant. Today is Thursday, & we drove to Three Ways, which is about 25Ks north of Tenant Creek. I went swimming here, but the pool was like ice. Tomorrow, we will drive along the Barkly Highway to Barkly Station, where we will stop for a day or two.
I'll post some pictures shortly.
Love to you all,
Avril & Doug. XXXX

Murray Bridge to Coober Pedy
We have just had a hectic 2 weeks prior to leaving on this year's travel adventure. Simon has installed SKYPE on our computer, & our call name is "dougandavrilwoodley" . After much fanfare at Murray Bridge, we left at about 9.30am on Friday the 6th of May, & drove to Port Wakefield for our first night away. Our niece Jenny, who lives nearby, picked us up at 5.30 & took us to her place, where we picked up her partner, & eventually went to the Port Parham Community Club for tea. Whilst there, we won an electric kettle & a lazy susan. It was then back to Jenny's partner's place for the rest of the evening. We eventually got to bed at about 2.00am. Saturday morning we drove to Port Augusta for one night & then on Sunday, we drove to Woomera for the night. Met some great people there & spent the early evening at the caravan park's own bar. The atmosphere was great. This morning, Monday, we drove to Coober Pedy, where we will spend a couple of nights. There are 2 other couples that we met in Port Augusta who seem to be following us, so I guess that they will be over for happy hour. Thats it for now, so I'll post some pictures for you in a few minuits.
